USA, 1960s
A Parsons desk in exotic olive burl, made by Hekman Furniture. A streamlined desk in beautiful materials. Base is slightly raised for a light, floating effect. This is an excellent size desk for
modern day- it's relatively slim and smaller than an executive desk, yet larger than a writing desk. It has clean lined design and three drawers on the underside for storage. Substantial
construction and weight to this piece.
CONDITION NOTES: This desk retained water damage and so was stripped and professionally refinished. The olive burl veneer has
raised areas along the top surface of the desk, so it is not perfectly flat on the top, but does not affect use. At some areas where the burlwood veneer meets at the edges, the joint is more open
and has been filled. In very usable condition and with a new finish- the whole desk has been serviced and received a new pre-cat satin lacquer finish. The interiors of the drawers were also
lightly sanded and finished.
DIMENSIONS: 58ʺ W × 24ʺ D × 29.75ʺ H; Height from floor to the bottom of drawers, 23.75".
