USA, 1940s
Elegant mahogany commode with an ebonized base and striking round black brass-backed pulls. No maker's marks. Pulls are in the style of some pieces by Gilbert Rohde; the ebonized base reminds me
of Michael Taylor for Baker; an interesting piece.
CONDITION NOTES: General light marks to the surfaces and one area on the top left. All drawers operate smoothly, some marks inside drawers. There were two holes drilled at the
back of the dresser top, probably to mount a mirror to the dresser. Some nicks to the round pulls and finish loss to the ebonized base.
