Attractive walnut clock designed by Arthur Umanoff for Meridian, model #589. The clock face is in brushed aluminum with black hour and minute hands; the hour markers are in a goldtone. The clock face appears to float within the shaped round walnut housing. Takes on one D battery (not included). The mechanism on the back reads 'Kienzle Germany'. Excellent size for a kitchen, office, or living area. A contemporary to clock designs by George Nelson.
CONDITION NOTES: A clock professional replaced the battery operated movement and added a seconds sweep hand in red since photos were taken. There is one scrape to the inside of the walnut housing at the 11 marker; scratch to the exterior of the walnut housing above the 12 marker. Light scratches to some numbers.
